Leland, NC

Leland, NC

Just across the Cape Fear River from downtown Wilmington lies Leland, one of the fastest-growing towns in North Carolina. Once you’ve visited Leland, you start to understand why. The town is a perfect mix of suburban ease and connection to wildlife, with access to several gorgeous parks, golf courses galore, and a plethora of locally owned restaurants worth their hype. It’s a beautiful place to call home, as more and more folks are finding out for themselves!

Dining

Breakfast begins at Farmhouse Kitchen, serving Angus breakfast burgers, cage-free eggs, and Bloody Marys all day long! When you’re ready for lunch, check out Islands Fresh Mex Grill for seriously fast (and seriously delicious) Mexican cuisine. Needing a little pick-me-up? Grab a crafted small-batch brew at Leland Brewing Company, or sip on crisp cider and refreshing Southern hospitality at Brunswick Beer and Cider. For dinner, we’re cracking into fresh crab legs from Cape Fear Seafood Company!

Active Adventures

Golf lovers—this is your new happy place. The Cape Fear National Golf Club is one of Wilmington’s most celebrated courses. It’s located in the Brunswick Forest and is home to 18 holes of premium, championship golf. There’s also Magnolia Greens Golf Club, one of the top courses in the Southeast, and a local’s favorite. They’ve even hosted qualifying events for the PGA and USGA! Golf with the whole family (even the dog) at The Golf Barn. They have everything from putt putt, snacks, mini games, and even private lessons.

If disc golf is more your speed, Leland’s got that, too (and a super cute shop to get your gear, called Throw Coast).

Racket fans will be pleased to know there’s a world-class pickleball facility on Long Pine Drive. House of Pickleball is your spot to train, compete with friends, and enter tournaments!

There are lots of parks to frequent, too. We love to picnic at Founders, stroll alongside the water at The Belville Riverwalk Park, and hit the elevated boardwalk at Westgate Nature Park. Take a hike at Brunswick Nature Park, which is the perfect little escape any time of year. You can read about these (and other) local parks here!
